New aerosol generation for fire extinguishing systems
The extinguishing material aerosol HAFEX in the form of an aerosol, consists of fine particles of alkalic metals dispersed in gases consisting mainly of nitrogen, carbon dioxide and water steam.
It is a non-conductive medium, and having a volumetric effect it spreads throughout the volume of the protected space. The HAFEX aerosol remains in natural suspension for a certain period of time and without binding the oxygen of the space, interrupts the chain reaction that takes place during the fire and consequently suppresses the spread of the fire.
Aerosol generators are contained within metal containers as a compressed block of solid compounds produced with alkalic metals and other auxiliary chemicals.
They are activated mechanically or automatically by the signal of a fire detection system on the activation device located in the respective metal container. Therefore, this signal starts inside the container without pressure, creating a highly effective and concentrated fire extinguishing mist.
Even if the room is not ventilated after extinguishing, either there will be no residue at all (S TYPE), or there will be scanty residue in the form of ultrafine dust (K TYPE).
The concentration of the aerosol in the protected space after extinguishing additionally protects the space from possible re-ignition of the fire without causing any damage to the protected equipment.
